DAVY ART SPACE, founded by Daniel and Petra Karl in 2025, is a Vienna-based space for contemporary art.
We aim to support and showcase contemporary artists while drawing on our experience in hospitality to create spaces for dialogue and shared experiences around art.
DANIEL KARL comes from a background in gastronomy and has established two successful museum cafés in Vienna — the Hildebrandt Café and Café Friedlich — where art and cuisine come together naturally.
This connection also shapes DAVY ART SPACE: we believe that culinary experiences bring people together, spark conversation, and open new ways of engaging with art. In this way, art is not only displayed, but experienced together.
PETRA KARL, an art historian, has worked in museums and exhibition projects and gained in-depth knowledge of the art market through her work in the insurance of private collections.
The name DAVY pays tribute to Daniel's maternal family line, whose close bond with art spans generations. It stands for curiosity, openness, and the joy of discovery – and for a lasting, dynamic engagement with art.
